patch -Np1 -i ../cdparanoia-III-alpha9.8-gcc34-1.patch &&
./configure --prefix=/usr &&
make
Now, as the root user:
make install &&
chmod 755 /usr/lib/libcdda_*.so.0.9.8
As with most libraries, there is no configuration to do, save that the library directory i.e., /opt/lib or /usr/local/lib should appear in /etc/ld.so.conf so that ldd can find the shared libraries. After checking that this is the case, /sbin/ldconfig should be run while logged in as root.
is used for 'ripping' an audio-cd. Ripping is the process of digitally extracting music from an audio-cd.
